Oakley

Upon arrival at the ER we learned that Project Oakley was in really bad shape and had a severe case of pneumonia, progressed heartworm disease and his kidney levels were off the charts.

The vet advised there was no coming back from those kidney levels and we had to make the sad, compassionate decision and let him pass peacefully. Our volunteer, Antonia, held him and told him how much we all love him.

We’re heartbroken that his previous person surrendered him to the full shelter and that his whole world was turned upside down. He was then adopted by someone else and returned because he was sick.

He then laid at the shelter, not moving or eating for two days. He deserved so much better than this, and we wanted so badly to save him!

RIP sweet boy, we love you Oakley, and you're forever in our hearts!  ❤️
